It seems I opened a can of worms on my Facebook page when I mentioned I use soap to clean my teeth. I’ve been doing it so long that I’ve forgotten that most people would think it’s strange. That’s what I thought, too,  until 2004 when I was first introduced to using soap instead of toothpaste. I feared the taste and I wondered if it would actually clean my teeth. Like practically everyone, I believed I needed abrasives, a detergent, and fluoride to have clean, healthy teeth. Wrong.

I have used a product called Tooth Soap and we have also begun making our own preparation we callTooth Foam. The Tooth Soap (little slivers of flavored soap – shards) works extremely well – and the taste fears are just that – fears, unsubstantiated by experience. While the soap shards are very good, I prefer the foam we make in our pharmacy.

I have had excellent check-ups for years and the hygienist tells me to keep doing what I do because it seems to be working very well. She shrugs and smiles when I refuse her samples of toothpaste.

The good dental visits are proof of what I discovered the first time I tried the soap method. My teeth felt smooth after brushing – and they felt the same when I awoke the next morning. No morning mouth and no sticky film. Just clean teeth.

I’ll go so far as to guarantee our tooth foam. If you absolutely hate it, let me know and I’ll refund your purchase price. You may keep the remaining product or discard it. It’s up to you.
