Sometimes referred to as BiEst or TriEst

MEDICATION:  may contain one or a combination of the following: Estriol (E3), Estradiol(E2), andEstrone (E1) and Testosterone. These are identical to the hormones that are produced in the human body primarily by the ovaries. Estrogens are responsible for the development and maintenance of the female reproductive system, secondary sex characteristics, favorable effects on blood cholesterol and lipid profiles, and slowing of the progression of osteoporosis, as well as causing proliferation of the endometrium.

USE: Bio-Identical Hormones are used for replacement therapy in peri-menopausal, menopausal, and post-menopausal women for the treatment of symptoms of low or imbalanced hormone levels. These symptoms include vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes, night sweats), irregular menses, mood swings, and vaginal dryness, burning, and itching.  Hormones are also used in the treatment of a variety of other conditions associated with a deficiency, including female hypogonadism, ovarian failure, or removal of the ovary. Other uses include preventing osteoporosis, ischemic heart disease, and Alzheimer’s disease; improving blood lipid profile, and maintaining bladder and urinary tract function.

SIDE EFFECTS:  Adverse reactions to Bio-Identical Hormones may be related to the dose or composition of your prescription. Concerns about increased risk of cancer may be reduced or eliminated by the use of Estriol alone or in combination with Progesterone therapy. Please consult your physician if you experience any of these symptoms or have any questions.

DIRECTIONS: Bio-Identical Hormones are available in many dosage forms including oral capsules, troches, injections, and topical preparations. Storage requirements depend on the dosage form used. Please follow any special instruction from the pharmacist for your prescription. Oral preparations may be taken with food. Follow dosage instructions exactly and be sure to consult with your physician for adjusting your dosage.

If you miss a dose take it as soon as remembered. Do not take if it is almost time for your next dose. Instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose.

Transdermal hormones are absorbed into the body shortly after being applied. People commonly apply the products after showering or bathing. There should be no concern about availability of the hormone if the area where the cream is applied is washed or shaved an hour or so after applying.

Wash hands and avoid intimate personal contact for 40 minutes after applying
