sideeffectsWhat Is It: Used in the ear to treat bacterial infections. Tobramycin works by killing bacteria and may be used alone or with other medicines for infections
How To Use
:  Cold drops can be painful in the ear. Allow the drops to warm slightly before inserting, then return container to refrigerator. First, wash your hands. Tilt the head to the side and with one hand; gently pull up on the ear and toward the head. Drop the medicine into the ear. The drop(s) will flow into the inner ear area. Keep the head tilted for a couple of minutes to be sure the medicine flows all of the way into the canal space. Repeat in other ear if ordered. When the head is returned to the upright position some medicine may flow out of the ear. This is ok because the necessary amount was delivered to the inner area. Gently wipe the excess away with a tissue and discard. Do not insert anything (like a cotton swab) into the ear canal unless you have received specific instructions to do so from the doctor.

To keep the medicine as germ-free as possible, do not touch the applicator tip to any surface (including the eye). Also, keep the container tightly closed.

If your doctor ordered two different ear drops to be used together, wait at least 5 minutes between the times you apply the medicines. This will help to keep the second medicine from “washing out” the first one.

Possible Side Effects: Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur: Less common: Itching, redness, swelling, or other sign of irritation not present before use of this medicine. Other side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. However, check with your doctor if either of the following side effects continues or is bothersome: Burning or stinging of the area where the medicine is applied.

Storage: Keep in the original container.  Keep out of the reach of children and pets.  These drops must be kept refrigerated at all times. They may have a faint odor. If they are deteriorating the odor will become more pronounced. This is not harmful but it does indicate that they may be less potent than when fresh. Under best conditions the drops have a stability dating of 15 days.

Note: If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one.
