As my readers know, I oppose the idea that health problems can always be answered with a prescription pad and an order for a drug. Blindly requesting or accepting a prescription for something that might have a simple answer is counterproductive because it can easily lead unpleasant side effects.
Postpartum Depression (PPD) is often addressed with an order for an anti-depressant. Is that necessary? Perhaps PPD is a state of temporary hormone imbalance – evidence and logic support this idea. What does progesterone, then, have to do with the postpartum depression?
Progesterone has a lot to do with postpartum depression.
