HORMONES -
HAIR LOSS & HORMONES

Hormone balance is critical to hair health. Hormones deficiencies contribute to thinning hair, dry, brittle hair, and balding. The most common causes of hair loss in women are a deficiency of estrogen and/or thyroid hormones. Despite their claims, no hair care product can correct for hair loss caused by hormone deficiencies. The chemicals found in these products often make the problem worse. Measuring levels and correcting hormone imbalances can restore hair volume and hair health.

STRESS is a major contributor to graying hair, hair loss, hormone imbalance, and illnesses including cancer and heart disease.

Prescription medications can cause hair loss.

The Birth Control Pill can cause hair loss all over, skin discoloration, weight gain, and depression. The statins, H2 blockers, coumadin, antidepressants, and blood pressure medications can cause hair loss along with more serious side effects.

Diet is critical to hair health.

Protein, essential omega 3 fatty acids (fish oil/flax seed), Vitamin B complex (B6, riboflavin, and folic acid), Zinc, Magnesium, Vitamin C, and selenium help to maintain healthy hair.
